Analysis of member "voice and vote" in current AATA Governance docs
Hi all, I put this document in the shared ATE folder for "AATA Files" . It really came from my own need to wrap my head around some stuff I think you all already had a grasp on. What was happening for me was that as I saw mention of the need for a task force for policy input, and changes to the nomination committee, and the need for minutes of member meetings to be distributed in a timely fashion, I got to thinking.....
How are things supposed to work? What do the written governance documents say? And what exactly are th voting rights of members vs the board? So that took me down this rabbit hole.
I would be happy to find a way to succinctly present this attached doc during the ATE June 18 meeting, if you think it would be helpful. It was helpful to me as it gave me a sense of "agency" in terms of what rights members have, and when they instead defer to the volunteer board.....
