5/18/26 Meeting Summary & Shared drive folder for landing space for shared efforts and projects

Hey Team,

A summary of requests from last night's meeting: 1. June meeting for all AATA members, BoD, and non-AATA members as we join in a structured discussion about where we are and what we can do to rebuild the community and uplift the voices of art therapists.

2. Focus on the Nominations Committee, Resolutions Committee, Sexual Assault & Harassment Policy, and Member voice.

  1. A list of tasks that folks can choose from to help support the efforts, as not everyone can attend all of the meetings. (i.e., content creation for social media, background images for meetings, support with creating surveys, emails, etc.)

  1. Email notifications of upcoming meetings. I believe this happens when we are able to upload the meetings to this website, but that didn't happen this time around. We will get better at sharing these duties with practice.

Last night we met to discuss planning an upcoming meeting hosted by ATE. AATA is not holding an All-Member meeting until July, which creates a substantial deviation from the previous bi-monthly schedule and the member-voted requests for monthly meetings. This meeting will be open to AATA members, BoD, and non-AATA members, as our goal is to heal the field and the association by addressing the continued loss of members to a lack of feeling heard, seen, and represented in the association's functions and decisions, among other reasons.

Due to some functional limitations, we were not able to get the notifications out about the meeting in advance, so apologies to those of you who would have wanted to be there but missed it. I do agree with Lauren, that a list serve file for the Shared Drive could help us navigate the communications piece. Please know you are wanted in this, and your voices matter. Your patience is appreciated as we build better. I will try to do my best to share what I can so you aren't missing anything. Let's keep the conversation going.

In the meeting, we discussed important focal points for the upcoming June ATE meeting and will work on discussion prompts and structures for each focal point. We still need to identify who will lead this meeting and facilitate the discussion. If you can help with: any of the technical pieces, designing the session and discussion prompts, want to be the facilitator, create infographics and images, create the art therapist input survey, etc. Please reach out.

I have created a shared folder on my Google Workspace for us to have a landing space for sharing content, forms, files, etc. as we work towards shared projects. I am in the process of copying some of the files I have found in my research into our history and how we got to this moment, as well as some of the files I have created to add perspective to what can be made of this information. I invite each of you to add your findings and create folders in this folder as well, as we work towards bringing change.

Thank you for this, Makael and thank you everyone who was able to attend Monday's meeting. I was flying into San Diego. The June meeting is an excellent idea.
